At Sophia Buddenhagen Art, I am passionate about bringing joy and character into every home through my unique and inspired artwork. My journey began in childhood, growing up in a Greek-American family while exploring the world. Living in incredible places like Egypt, West Africa, Europe, and the West Indies exposed me to diverse landscapes, cultures, and natural influences that continue to inspire my work. My love of surfing and my nomadic upbringing shape my creative vision, allowing me to remain open to exploration and free from being tied to any one place or culture. From travel and nature-inspired paintings to abstract pieces, I offer a range of options to suit your style and preferences, with the goal of helping you choose the perfect artwork that illuminates your space, reflects your personality, and brings you joy every time you walk into your home.

My creative process often starts with journaling, sketching patterns, or scribbling random words, numbers, and letters. I layer these elements with various colors and mediums, letting the work evolve organically. Sometimes an image emerges from the background, other times the piece remains abstract. Through this, I strive to create a sense of balance, both visually and emotionally. The most rewarding part of creating art is seeing how others connect with it, whether they’re transported to different parts of the world or reminded of a special moment in time.
